Hi, my name is Diana Lewis. I have been a resident of Faubourg Bois-Franc since 2017. I am offering to teach English here in Bois-Franc. I have been an English as a second language teacher since 2002. I have a certificate in teaching English as a second language (T.E.S.L.). I have worked in various language schools such as Télélangues (where I worked for 10 years) in Montreal. I would be sent around the city to different companies such as Desjardins Sécurité Financière, Ministère de l’immigration, and Pratt & Whitney. Presently, you can also find me at Unions des Familles Ahuntsic (UFA), a family community center. In recent years, I worked as an independent freelance teacher in Brussels. I teach all ages and levels. Teaching English is my livelihood.
Creating my own material based on the student’s needs, (such as integrated verb tense exercises and discussion topics) ; using a grammar book ; reading and discussing articles, e-mails, and novels ;
playing educational games and activities.
Focusing on the moment when mistakes are made.
Maximizing conversation, having the student create dialogues relative to a situation and/or verb tense. Responding to the student’s immediate need for the day, (such as helping with homework or responding to an e-mail).
Invoices are sent at the end of each month. My fees are $35/hour for a private lesson. Group rates to be discussed.
A same-day cancellation is charged. A cancellation needs to be made a minimum of 24 hours in advance. There is no contract. Either party can cancel lessons at any time, without penalty. Lessons already given are not reimboursed. Cancellation Policy Liste de contenu se place ici
Grammar books are not included in the cost of the lessons. Although optional, normally, a grammar book is strongly suggested, according to the level of each student. All supplementary books are on a case by case basis, according to the interest, needs, and budget of the student. Photocopies are provided to complement the lessons at no extra cost. For each lesson, a notebook (or binder) and pencil or pen are needed.
Lessons are given at your workplace, your home, or in a quiet café, depending on the logistics of where I need to be, on a given day.
